SOME FACTS ABOUT THE CANADIAN SEAL HUNT:
1. It is the largest slaughter of marine mammals throughout the world.
2. More than 1 million seals have been killed in the past 4 years alone.
3. No part of the seals killed are consumed. The pelts are sold to fashion houses and most of the meat left to rot on the ice.
4. Veterinarians have estimated that about 40% of the seals are skinned alive.
5. Approximately 95% of the seals killed in the hunt are less than 3 months old.
6. Some of the largest consumer's of Canadian seafood are Red Lobster, Long John Silver's, and Costco.
7. By boycotting ALL Canadian seafood, we can apply economic pressure the Canadian government which subsidized the hunt with tax dollars.
